More pictures of impressive moment were taken in a gala event where a lot of people from Thai entertainment circles gathered together to share their congratulations on the two achievements of Sahamongkol Film International Co., Ltd.
Firstly, Sia Jieang (Somsak Techarattanapresert) was chosen by the American gigantic entertainment magazine "Variety" to be included as a one in the list of "13 Asian Film Leaders" in 2007. The list was comprised of artists, directors, actors, producers, company presidents, Chief Executive Officers (CEO), and Asian influential persons who were behind the regional and international success of Asian Films. As the Chief Executive of Sahamongkol Film Sia Jieang was chosen, and he was the only Thai person who received this honor. (The list was comprised of other Asian persons such as Ang Lee [the first Asian who had received the "Best Director" from Oscar], and the famous actor Tony Leung.)
Secondly, Tony Jaa or Panom Yeerum, the action no-sling-no-stunt actor, was given a great honor to stand on the same stage with Jackie Chan, and received the "Best Action Actor" award from Martial Arts Global Celebration held in Shenzhen, China. Many superstars were there such as Jackie Chan, David Jieng, Yuan Pieaw, Yasuaki Kurata (from Japan), Gordon Liu, Wu Ching, Vanness (F4), Jang Hyuk (from South Korea). And there also was "Kim Yong" the famous Kung-Fu novel writer of "Jade Dragon".
In this gala event to celebrate the impressive success of Thai film-makers, Sia Jieang gave Tony a Gold Bai Pho (Bodhi Leaf made of gold) which was the logo of Sahamongkol Film as a souvenir for his success. This gala event was closed after all of them were joyful together in a karaoke sing-a-long.
